The Book of Oaths and Vows
(أَلْفَاظُ قَسَمِ السَّيِّدِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ)
(The words of the oath of Sayyid Umar, may Allah be pleased with him)
2(مَنْعُ الْقَسَمِ بِالْأَبِ وَالْجَدِّ)
(Prohibition of swearing by the father or grandfather)
3(مَنْعُ الْقَسَمِ بِالْأَصْنَامِ أَوِ الْآبَاءِ وَالْأَجْدَادِ)
(Prohibition of swearing by idols or fathers and grandfathers)
4(مَا يَجِبُ عَلَى مَنْ يَحْلِفُ بِالْأَصْنَامِ أَنْ يَفْعَلَ)
(What one who swears by idols must do)
5(بَعْضُ الْأُمُورِ الْمَكْرُوهَةِ)
(Some disliked matters)
6(يُمْكِنُ نَقْضُ الْقَسَمِ)
(An oath can be broken)
7(يُمْكِنُ فِعْلُ مَا يُخَالِفُ الْقَسَمَ بَعْدَ دَفْعِ كَفَّارَتِهِ)
(One may act against an oath after paying its expiation)
8(إِذَا رَأَى عَمَلًا صَالِحًا بَعْدَ الْقَسَمِ فَلْيَنْقُضْهُ وَلْيَفْعَلْهُ)
(If one sees a righteous deed after taking an oath, they should break it and perform the deed)
9(بَيَانُ مَنْ يَحْلِفُ بِشَأْنِ أَهْلِهِ وَعِيَالِهِ)
(Description of one who swears regarding their family and dependents)
10(بَيَانُ صِدْقِ مَنْ يَحْلِفُ)
(Explanation of the truthfulness of one who takes an oath)
11(اعْتِبَارُ الْقَسَمِ بِنِيَّةِ طَالِبِ الْقَسَمِ)
(The validity of an oath depends on the intention of the one demanding it)
12(لَا مُؤَاخَذَةَ عَلَى الْقَسَمِ اللَّغْوِ)
(No accountability for an unintentional oath)
13(يَجِبُ أَنْ تَكُونَ الْقَسَمُ صَادِقَةً دَائِمًا)
(An oath must always be truthful)
14(مَنْعُ الْقَسَمِ بِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ)
(Prohibition of swearing by anything other than Allah)
15(مَنْ يَحْلِفُ بِالْأَمَانَةِ لَيْسَ مِنَّا)
(One who swears by trust is not one of us)
16(حَلَفٌ كُفْرِيٌّ يُخْرِجُ مِنَ الإِسْلَامِ)
(A blasphemous oath that takes one out of Islam)
17(كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَحْلِفُ)
(How did the Prophet, peace be upon him, take oaths?)
18(طَرِيقَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْحَلِفِ)
(The method of the Prophet, peace be upon him, in taking oaths)
19(قَوْلُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ عِنْدَ الْحَلِفِ)
(Saying “Inshallah” while taking an oath)
20(صِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ مَعَ الأَقَارِبِ)
(Maintaining ties with close relatives)
21(لَا يَتَغَيَّرُ شَيْءٌ بِمَنِّ النَّذْرِ)
(Nothing changes by making a vow)
22(يَجِبُ إِتْمَامُ النَّذْرِ الْجَائِزِ)
(A permissible vow must be fulfilled)
23(لَا تُنْفَذُ نَذْرُ الْمَعْصِيَةِ)
(A vow involving sin should not be fulfilled)
24(مَنْعُ مَنِّ النَّذْرِ)
(Prohibition of making vows)
25(الإِذْنُ بِعَدَمِ إِتْمَامِ النَّذْرِ الَّذِي لَا يُمْكِنُ إِكْمَالُهُ)
(Permission not to fulfill a vow that cannot be completed)
26(بَيَانُ التَّعَبِ بِسَبَبِ مَنِّ النَّذْرِ)
(Explanation of suffering due to making a vow)
27(اللَّهُ تَعَالَى غَنِيٌّ عَنِ التَّعَبِ بِمَنِّ النَّذْرِ)
(Allah Almighty is free from the need for suffering due to vows)
28(يَجِبُ إِتْمَامُ نَذْرِ الْمَيِّتِ الْجَائِزِ)
(The permissible vow of the deceased must be fulfilled)
29(مَنْعُ التَّصَدُّقِ بِجَمِيعِ الْمَالِ)
(Prohibition of giving all wealth in charity)
30(كَفَّارَةُ النَّذْرِ)
(Expiation for a vow)
31(كَفَّارَةُ النَّذْرِ)
(Expiation for a vow)
32(يُنْفَذُ النَّذْرُ الْجَائِزُ)
(A permissible vow should be fulfilled)
33(حُكْمُ إِتْمَامِ نَذْرِ عَزْفِ الدُّفِّ)

34(مَنْعُ التَّصَدُّقِ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ ثُلُثِ الْمَالِ)
(Prohibition of giving more than one-third of wealth in charity)
35(إِذَا مَنَّ نَذْرًا لِصَلَاةٍ فِي مَكَانٍ مُعَيَّنٍ وَصَلَّى فِي مَكَانٍ آخَرَ فَإِنَّ النَّذْرَ يُكْتَمِلُ)
(If one vows to pray in a specific place but prays elsewhere, the vow is fulfilled)
36(نَذْرُ الْحَجِّ مَشْيًا عَمَلٌ مَكْرُوهٌ)
(Vowing to perform Hajj on foot is a disliked act)
37(مَسْأَلَةُ نَذْرِ الْحَجِّ مَشْيًا)
(The matter of vowing to perform Hajj on foot)
38(كَفَّارَةُ النَّذْرِ الْمُخَالِفِ لِلطَّاعَةِ تُدْفَعُ)
(Expiation must be paid for a vow involving disobedience)
39(النَّذْرُ نَوْعَانِ)
(Vows are of two types)
40(مَسْأَلَةُ نَذْرِ التَّضْحِيَةِ بِالنَّفْسِ)
