The Book of Supplications
(الاسْتِعَاذَةُ مِنْ خَمْسَةِ أَشْيَاءَ)
(Seeking refuge from five things)
Hadith 2466
وَعَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ خَمْسٍ: مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَسُوءِ الْعُمُرِ وَفِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ وَعَذَابِ القَبرِ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد وَالنَّسَائِيّ
‘Umar said that God’s messenger used to seek refuge in God from five things:cowardliness, niggardliness, the evils of old age, evil thoughts, and the punishment in the grave. Abu Dawud and Nasa'i transmitted it.
