The Book of Supplications
(اِعْتِرَافُ الذَّنْبِ تَوْبَةٌ فِي أَوَّلِ سُلَّمِهَا)
(Confession of sin is the first step of repentance)
Hadith 2330
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم: «إِنَّ الْعَبَدَ إِذَا اعْتَرَفَ ثُمَّ تَابَ تَابَ الله عَلَيْهِ»
A’isha reported God’s messenger as saying, "When a servant acknowledges his sin and repents, God forgives him.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)
