Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الصومThe Book of Fasting
(بَيَانُ أَنَّ النَّجَاحَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ بِالْعَمَلِ بِالْقُرْآنِ)
(Explanation that success in this world and the hereafter is through acting upon the Quran)
Hadith 2115
وَعَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم: «إِن الله يَرْفَعُ بِهَذَا الْكِتَابِ أَقْوَامًا وَيَضَعُ بِهِ آخَرِينَ» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم
‘Umar b. al Khattāb reported God’s messenger as saying, “By this Book God exalts some peoples and lowers others.” Muslim transmitted it.
