The Book of Prayer
(الْجُلُوسُ بَعِيدًا عَنِ الإِمَامِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ هُوَ بُعْدٌ عَنِ الْجَنَّةِ)
(Sitting far from the Imam on Friday is distancing from Paradise)
Hadith 1391
وَعَن سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «احْضُرُوا الذِّكْرَ وَادْنُوا مِنَ الْإِمَامِ فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَا يَزَالُ يَتَبَاعَدُ حَتَّى يُؤَخَّرَ فِي الْجنَّة وَإِن دَخلهَا» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Samura b. Jundub reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Be present at the mention of God and go near the imam; for if anyone always keeps far away the result will be that he will be put in a back place in paradise, supposing he enters it." Abu Dawud transmitted it.
