The Book of Virtues and Characteristics
(جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ يَثْقُبُ الصَّخْرَةَ فِي لَيْلَةِ المِعْرَاجِ)
(Gabriel, peace be upon him, piercing a rock during the Night of Mi'raj)
Hadith 5921
وَعَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَمَّا انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ قَالَ جِبْرِيل بِأُصْبُعِهِ فَخَرَقَ بِهَا الْحَجَرَ فَشَدَّ بِهِ الْبُرَاقَ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ
Buraida reported God's messenger as saying, "When I came to Jerusalem Gabriel made a sign with his finger, making with it a hole in the stone, and tied al-Buraq to it." Tirmidhi transmitted it.
