Hadith 5341

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The fire of Hell was presented before me, and I saw in it a woman from the Children of Israel being punished because of a cat. She had tied it up; she neither fed it herself nor let it go so that it could eat the insects of the earth. Thus, it died of hunger in that state. And I saw ‘Amr bin ‘Amir Al-Khuzā‘ī dragging his intestines in Hell, and he was the first person to introduce the custom of setting animals free in the name of idols." Narrated by Muslim.
