كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(مَعْرِفَةُ الإِنْسَانِ بِعَادَتِهِ وَخَصْلَتِهِ)(A person is known by their habits and traits)
Hadith 5336

وَعَن عُثْمَان بن عَفَّان قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ سَرِيرَةٌ صَالِحَةً أَوْ سَيِّئَةً أَظْهَرَ اللَّهُ مِنْهَا رِدَاءً يُعْرَفُ بِهِ»
Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person has any hidden good or bad trait, Allah will manifest a sign from it by which he will be recognized." Its chain of narration is weak. This is narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
