It is narrated from Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the last era, there will be some people who will be friends outwardly but enemies inwardly." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! How will this be? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This will be due to mutual desire (i.e., for benefit) and mutual fear (i.e., of harm)." Its chain is weak, narrated by Ahmad.
