كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(مَخْلُوقٌ لِسَانُهُ حُلْوٌ)(A creature whose tongue is sweet)
Hadith 5324

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَالَ: لَقَدْ خَلَقْتُ خَلْقًا أَلْسِنَتُهُمْ أَحْلَى مِنَ السُّكَّرِ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ أَمَرُّ مِنَ الصَّبْرِ فَبِي حَلَفْتُ لَأُتِيحَنَّهُمْ فِتْنَةً تَدَعُ الْحَلِيمَ فِيهِمْ حَيْرَانَ فَبِي يغترّون أم عليَّ يجترؤونَ؟ رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حديثٌ غَرِيب
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: 'I have created a creation whose tongues are sweeter than sugar and whose hearts are more bitter than aloes. I swear by Myself! I will put them to a trial that will leave even their forbearing (wise and patient) person astonished. Are they deceived because of Me, or do they dare against Me?'" (Tirmidhi), and he said: This hadith is gharib. Its chain is weak. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi.
