كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(فَضِيلَةُ الإِنْفَاقِ عَلَى طُلَّابِ الدِّينِ)(The virtue of spending on seekers of religious knowledge)
Hadith 5308

وَعَن أنسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ أَخَوَانِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَكَانَ أَحَدُهُمَا يَأْتِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْآخَرُ يَحْتَرِفُ فَشَكا المحترف أَخَاهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «لَعَلَّكَ تُرْزَقُ بِهِ» رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيث صَحِيح غَرِيب
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), there were two brothers. One of them used to attend the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while the other used to engage in business. The one who did business complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about his brother. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps you are provided for because of him." (Tirmidhi) And he said: This hadith is sahih ghareeb. Its chain is hasan. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi.
