It is narrated from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would urinate, he would perform tayammum with soil. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Water is near you." He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "How do I know, perhaps I may not be able to reach there." Sharh al-Sunnah, and Ibn al-Jawzi narrated it in the book "Al-Wafa." Its chain is weak. Narrated in Sharh al-Sunnah.
