Hadith 5268

عَن عبد الله قَالَ: خَطَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطًّا مُرَبَّعًا وَخَطَّ خَطًّا فِي الْوَسَطِ خَارِجًا مِنْهُ وَخَطَّ خُطُطًا صِغَارًا إِلَى هَذَا الَّذِي فِي الْوَسَطِ مِنْ جَانِبِهِ الَّذِي فِي الْوَسَطِ وفقال: «هَذَا الْإِنْسَانُ وَهَذَا أَجَلُهُ مُحِيطٌ بِهِ وَهَذَا الَّذِي هُوَ خَارِجُ أَمَلِهِ وَهَذِهِ الْخُطُوطُ الصِّغَارُ الْأَعْرَاضُ فَإِنْ أَخْطَأَهُ هَذَا نَهَسَهُ هَذَا وَإِنْ أخطأه هَذَا نهسه هَذَا» . رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drew a square-shaped line and drew a line in the middle of it extending outside, and drew some small lines on the side of this middle line, and said: "This is man, and this is his appointed term (death) which surrounds him, and the one going outwards is his hope, and these small lines are the calamities that befall him. If one misses him, another seizes him, and if that one misses him, yet another seizes him." Narrated by al-Bukhari.
