Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "I love you." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "See what you are saying." He said, "By Allah! I love you." He said this three times. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If you are truthful (in your claim), then prepare a shield to face poverty, for indeed, poverty comes to the one who loves me faster than a flood." (Tirmidhi) And he said: This hadith is gharib. Its chain is weak. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi.
