كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(الكُفَّارُ يُعْطَوْنَ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَقَطْ)(The disbelievers are given only in this world)
Hadith 5240

وَعَن عمر قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِذَا هُوَ مُضْطَجِعٌ عَلَى رِمَالِ حَصِيرٍ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ فِرَاشٌ قَدْ أَثَّرَ الرِّمَالُ بِجَنْبِهِ مُتَّكِئًا عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ حَشْوُهَا لِيفٌ. قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ: ادْعُ اللَّهَ فَلْيُوَسِّعْ عَلَى أُمَّتِكَ فَإِنَّ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومَ قَدْ وُسِّعَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَعْبُدُونَ اللَّهَ. فَقَالَ: «أَوَ فِي هَذَا أَنْتَ يَا ابْنَ الْخطاب؟ أُولئكَ قوم عجلت لَهُم طيبتاتهم فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا» . وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ لَهُمُ الدُّنْيَا وَلَنَا الْآخِرَةُ؟» . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ
Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was lying on a mat made of date-palm leaves, and he had not spread any bedding or anything else. The marks of the mat were visible on his side, and he was leaning on a leather pillow stuffed with palm tree leaves. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah to grant abundance to your Ummah, for the Persians and Romans have been greatly favored, even though they do not worship Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ibn Khattab! Are you still at that position? These (disbelievers) are people whose pleasures have been hastened for them in this worldly life." In another narration, it is stated: "Are you not pleased that for them is this world and for us is the Hereafter?" Agreed upon.
