Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates in a marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet) tradition: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: "When a person dies, the angels say: 'What has he sent forward (of deeds)?' And people say: 'What has he left behind (of wealth)?'" Its chain is weak. It is narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu‘ab al-Iman.
