Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What I fear most for my Ummah is the desires of the self and prolonged hopes, for the desires of the self prevent from the truth, while prolonged hopes make one forget the Hereafter. And this world is (imperceptibly) departing, while the Hereafter is (similarly) approaching, and each of them has seekers. Do not be seekers of this world; keep performing deeds, for today you are in the abode of action and there is no reckoning, and tomorrow you will be in the abode of the Hereafter and there will be no action." Its chain is weak, narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
