Hadith 5162

It is narrated from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What I fear most for you after me is that the doors of the splendor and adornment of the world will be opened for you." A man asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Will good bring evil with it?" The Prophet remained silent until we thought that revelation was being sent down to him. The narrator says, then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiped the sweat from his (blessed face) and said: "Where is the questioner?" As if he praised him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Good does not bring evil with it. Indeed, the spring season brings forth herbage, but some of it kills the animal, causes it to bloat, or brings it close to destruction. However, the animal that eats green grass eats until its flanks are filled, then it turns towards the sun, chews the cud, defecates and urinates, and then goes back and eats again. This wealth is lush and sweet; whoever takes it according to his need and spends it in its due right, it is the best helper. But whoever acquires it without need is like the one who eats but is never satisfied, and that (wealth) will testify against him on the Day of Resurrection." Agreed upon.
