(الهَلَاكُ فِي تَعْطِيلِ النَّفْسِ)(Destruction lies in disabling oneself)
Hadith 5146

وَعَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم: «لن يهْلك النَّاس حَتَّى يعذروا فِي أنفسهم» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Abu Bakhtari narrates from a companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People will not be destroyed due to sins until they begin to present false excuses to justify their sins." Its chain is authentic, narrated by Abu Dawood.
