It is narrated from Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he wrote a letter to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) asking her to write him a concise advice. So she wrote: Peace be upon you! To proceed! I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah at the cost of people's displeasure, Allah will suffice him against the evil of the people; and whoever seeks the pleasure of people at the cost of Allah's displeasure, Allah will leave him to the people." And peace be upon you! Its chain is weak, narrated by al-Tirmidhi.
