(وَعِيدٌ عَلَى قَطِيعَةِ الرَّحِمِ)(Warning Against Severing Family Ties)
Hadith 4930

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم يَقُول: قَالَ الله تبَارك: أَنَا اللَّهُ وَأَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنِ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قطعهَا بتته . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, says: I am Allah and I am the Most Merciful (Rahman). I created the womb (rahm) and derived its name from My Name (Rahman). Whoever maintains its ties, I will maintain ties with him, and whoever severs it, shall I deprive him (of My mercy)?" Sahih, narrated by Abu Dawood.
