Hadith 4882

وَعَن عبدِ الله بن عامرٍ قَالَ: دَعَتْنِي أُمِّي يَوْمًا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاعِدٌ فِي بَيْتِنَا فَقَالَتْ: هَا تَعَالَ أُعْطِيكَ. فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا أَرَدْتِ أَنْ تُعْطِيهِ؟» قَالَتْ: أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُعْطِيَهُ تَمْرًا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَمَا إِنَّكِ لَوْ لَمْ تُعْطِيهِ شَيْئًا كُتِبَت�� عَلَيْكِ كَذِبَةٌ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي «شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ»
Abdullah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day my mother called me while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was present in our house. My mother said: Listen, come here, I will give you something. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "What do you intend to give him?" She replied: I intend to give him a date. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Listen! If you had not given him anything, a lie would have been recorded against you." Its chain is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood and Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
