It is narrated from Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day he said: A man stood up and, in order to display eloquence, prolonged his speech. So Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If he had adopted moderation while speaking, it would have been better for him, because I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I have realized, or I have been commanded, to be concise in speech, for conciseness is better." Its chain is Hasan. Narrated by Abu Dawood.
