Hadith 4781

Abdul Hameed bin Jubair bin Shaibah narrates: I was sitting with Saeed bin Musayyib when he related a hadith to me that his grandfather, Hazn, came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What is your name?" He replied, "My name is Hazn." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "(No), rather you are Sahl." He said, "I will not change the name given by my father." Ibn Musayyib said: After that, harshness (huzoonat) remained among us. Narrated by al-Bukhari.
