(إِحْدَى الْأَمْرَيْنِ الِاسْمُ أَوِ الْكُنْيَةُ)(One of the two: the name or the kunya)
Hadith 4770

وَعَنْ جَابِرٌ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: «إِذَا سَمَّيْتُمْ بِاسْمِي فَلَا تَكْتَنُوا بِكُنْيَتِي» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ. وَقَالَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ. وَفِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ قَالَ: «مَن تسمَّى باسمي فَلَا يَكْتَنِ بِكُنْيَتِي وَمَنْ تَكَنَّى بِكُنْيَتِي فَلَا يَتَسَمَّ باسمي»
It is narrated from Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When you name (someone) with my name, then do not use my kunyah (patronymic) as a kunyah." And Imam Tirmidhi said: This hadith is gharib, and in the narration of Abu Dawood, it is stated: "Whoever names (someone) with my name should not use my kunyah, and whoever uses my kunyah should not name (someone) with my name." Sahih, narrated by Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and Abu Dawood.
