Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "None of you should say: 'My slave (male), my slave-girl (female),' for all of you are slaves and servants of Allah, and all your women are slave-girls of Allah. Rather, you should say: 'My boy, my girl.' And a slave should not say: 'My Lord!' Rather, he should say: 'My master.'" In another narration: He should say: 'My chief, my patron.'" In another narration: "A slave should not say to his master: 'My patron,' for your patron is Allah." Narrated by Muslim.
