Hadith 4700

وَعَن أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَّكِئًا عَلَى عَصًا فَقُمْنَا فَقَالَ: «لَا تَقُومُوا كَمَا يَقُومُ الْأَعَاجِمُ يُعَظِّمُ بَعْضهَا بَعْضًا» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out leaning on a staff, so we stood up for him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not stand up as the non-Arabs stand up for each other in veneration." Its chain is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood.
