(عَدَمُ التَّشَبُّهِ بِأَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ)(Do not resemble the People of the Book)
Hadith 4649

وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِغَيْرِنَا لَا تَشَبَّهُوا بِالْيَهُودِ وَلَا بِالنَّصَارَى فَإِنَّ تَسْلِيمَ الْيَهُودِ الْإِشَارَةُ بِالْأَصَابِعِ وَتَسْلِيمَ النَّصَارَى الْإِشَارَةُ بِالْأَكُفِّ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: إِسْنَاده ضَعِيف
Amr bin Shu’aib narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever imitates anyone other than us is not from among us. Do not imitate the Jews and Christians, for the greeting of the Jews is to gesture with the fingers, while the greeting of the Christians is to gesture with the palms. (Tirmidhi), and he said: Its chain is weak. Its chain is weak, narrated by al-Tirmidhi.
