Mu’adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) a hadith of the same meaning, adding that then another man came and said: “As-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu wa maghfiratuhu!” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “(For him) there are forty (good deeds).” And he said: “Virtues are like this.” Its chain is weak, narrated by Abu Dawood.
