The Book of Prayer
(سُنَّةُ الذَّبْحِ فِي مَصْلَى الْعِيدِ)
(It is Sunnah to slaughter the animal at the Eidgah)
Hadith 1457
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَذْبَحُ وَيَنْحَرُ بِالْمُصَلَّى. رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
Ibn ‘Umar said that the Prophet used to sacrifice and slaughter at the place of prayer. Bukhari transmitted it. (Cf. Chap. 48a)
