Hadith 143

Abu Huraira reported God's messenger as saying, “All my people will enter paradise except those who refuse.” On being asked who refused, he replied, “He who obeys me will enter paradise, and he who disobeys me has refused.” Bukhari transmitted it.

Takhrij al-Hadith:
[صحیح بخاری 7280]

Fiqh al-Hadith
➊ Obedience to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is obligatory.
➋ Whoever denies an authentic hadith of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) will be deprived of Paradise.
✿ Allah the Exalted says:
«مَنْ يُطِعِ الرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللَّـهَ»
"Whoever obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah." [النساء : 80]
The above hadith is a confirmation and explanation of this verse. «والحمد لله»
➍ It is incorrect to expel or consider sinful Muslims as being outside the Ummah of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
➎ The preferred opinion is that the intended meaning of "Ummah" here is "Ummah of Response" (Ummah Ijabah), i.e., those people from the Ummah who will enter Paradise are those who have sincerely recited the testimony of faith (kalimah) of the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and have safeguarded themselves from beliefs and actions that take one out of Islam.
➏ It is necessary at all times to firmly adhere to the Sunnah and to avoid innovations (bid‘ah).

Hadith Commentary:

Whoever refrains from accepting the invitation and obedience has rejected, and the one who rejects Islam will remain in Hell forever. However, if someone falls short after having faith, he will bear his punishment and will eventually enter Paradise.
In one hadith, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Whoever obeyed me has certainly obeyed Allah, and whoever disobeyed me has disobeyed Allah.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Al-Ahkam, Hadith: 7137)

The meaning is that since the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is an authentic representative of Allah, his obedience and compliance hold the status of authority.
Allah the Exalted says:
“Whoever obeys the Messenger has certainly obeyed Allah.”
(An-Nisa 4:80)
In any case, obedience and following of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is extremely necessary.
A severe warning has been mentioned regarding opposition to him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
