Hadith 106
إن الله عز و جل يقول : أنا الله لا إله الا أنا ، مالك الملوك ، ملك الملوك ، قلوب الملوك فى يدى ، وان العباد إذا أطاعوني حولت قلوب ملوكهم عليهم بالرأفة والرحمة وان العباد إذا عصوني حولت قلوب ملوكهم عليهم بالسخط والنقمة فساموهم سوء العذاب ، فلا تشغلوا أنفسكم بالدعا على الملوك ولكن أشغلوا أنفسكم بالذكر والتضرع أكفكم ملوككم
“Indeed, Allah the Exalted says: I am Allah, there is no deity worthy of worship except Me. (I alone) am the Owner of kings, the King of kings. The hearts of kings are in My hand, and surely when My servants obey Me, I turn the hearts of their kings towards them with compassion, mercy, and gentleness (i.e., I make the rulers’ hearts gentle towards their subjects). And when My servants disobey Me, I turn the hearts of their kings towards them with anger and vengeance, then they make them (i.e., My disobedient ones) taste a severe punishment. Therefore, do not occupy yourselves with cursing your kings, but rather occupy yourselves with My remembrance and humility; I will restrain your kings from (oppressing and wronging) you.”
