Da'if Ahadith

“When my Ummah adopts fifteen practices, trials will descend upon them. (These are): (1) When spoils of war are treated as personal property (i.e., some are given from the spoils and others are deprived), (2) trusts are regarded as spoils of war (i.e., people seize entrusted property as if it were war booty), (3) zakat is considered a penalty (i.e., people find it burdensome to pay, regarding it not as purification of wealth or a divine command, but as a tax or fine), (4) every man obeys his wife (in all lawful and unlawful matters), (5) but disobeys his mother, (6) treats his friend well (and brings him close), (7) but mistreats his father (and distances him), (8) voices are raised in the mosques (with disputes, business dealings, and idle talk), (9) the leader and guardian of the people (i.e., their chief) is the most vile and base among them, (10) a man is honored out of fear of his evil (lest his harm reaches them), (11) intoxicants are consumed, (12) (unnecessarily) silk is worn, (13) singing and dancing women are taken up, and (14) musical instruments are acquired, (15) the last of this Ummah (i.e., those who come later) curse the first (i.e., the righteous predecessors)—(it is also explained that instead of performing righteous deeds, they will not follow the righteous predecessors, which is tantamount to cursing them). When the people of the Ummah begin to do these things, then they should await a red wind, and being swallowed by the earth and transformation (i.e., being sunk into the earth and having their forms changed), for they will surely be afflicted with such punishments.”
