بَابُ : مَنِ اسْتَلَمَ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنِهِ
Chapter: One who touches the corner with a staff
Hadith 2947
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " لَمَّا اطْمَأَنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ ، طَافَ عَلَى بَعِيرهُ يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنٍ بِيَدِهِ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا حَمَامَةَ عَيْدَانٍ فَكَسَرَهَا ، ثُمَّ قَامَ عَلَى بَاب : الْكَعْبَةِ فَرَمَى بِهَا ، وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُهُ " .
´It was narrated that Safiyyah bint Shaibah said:` “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw that things had settled down, in the year of the Conquest (of Makkah), he performed Tawaf on his camel, touching the corner with a staff in his hand. Then he entered the House and found a dove made of aloeswood. He broke it, then he stood at the door of the Ka’bah and threw it out, and I was watching him.”
Hadith 2948
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ ، يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنٍ " .
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Tawaf on a camel during the Farewell Pilgrimage, touching the corner with a staff.
Hadith 2949
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا هَدِيَّةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْرُوفُ بْنُ خَرَّبُوذَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ عَامِرَ بْنَ وَاثِلَةَ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ ، يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنِهِ ، وَيُقَبِّلُ الْمِحْجَنَ " .
´Ma’ruf bin Kharrabudh Al-Makki narrated:` “I heard Abu Tufail, ‘Amir bin Wathilah, say: ‘I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) performing Tawaf on his camel, touching the corner with his staff and kissing the staff.’”
