بَابُ : الأَكْلِ فِي قُدُورِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Chapter: Eating from the vessels of the polytheists
Hadith 2830
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ هُلْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ طَعَامِ النَّصَارَى ، فَقَالَ : " لَا يَخْتَلِجَنَّ فِي صَدْرِكَ طَعَامٌ ، ضَارَعْتَ فِيهِ نَصْرَانِيَّةً " .
´It was narrated from Qabisah bin Hulb that his father said:` “I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about the food of the Christians and he said: ‘Do not have any doubt about food, (thereby) following the way of the Christians in that.’”
Hadith 2831
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو فَرْوَةَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ رُوَيْمٍ اللَّخْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ ، قَالَ : وَلَقِيَهُ وَكَلَّمَهُ قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قُدُورُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ نَطْبُخُ فِيهَا ؟ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَطْبُخُوا فِيهَا " ، قُلْتُ : فَإِنِ احْتَجْنَا إِلَيْهَا فَلَمْ نَجِدْ مِنْهَا بُدًّا ، قَالَ : " فَارْحَضُوهَا رَحْضًا حَسَنًا ، ثُمَّ اطْبُخُوا وَكُلُوا " .
´‘Urwah bin Ruwaim Al-Lakhmi narrated that Abu Tha’labah Al-Khushani – whom he said he met and spoke with – said:` “I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and asked him: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Can we cook in the vessels of the idolaters?’ He said: ‘Do not cook in them.’ I said: ‘What if we need them and cannot find anything else?’ He said: ‘Wash them well, then cook and eat.’”
