Chapter: What was narrated concerning women going out on the two ‘Eid

Hadith 1307

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ ، قَالَتْ : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نُخْرِجَهُنَّ فِي يَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ ، وَالنَّحْرِ " ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ : فَقُلْنَا : أَرَأَيْتَ إِحْدَاهُنَّ لَا يَكُونُ لَهَا جِلْبَابٌ ؟ ، قَالَ : " فَلْتُلْبِسْهَا أُخْتُهَا مِنْ جِلْبَابِهَا " .

´It was narrated that Umm ‘Atiyyah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded us to bring them (the women) out on the day of Fitr and the day of Nahr.” Umm ‘Atiyyah said: “We said: ‘What if one of them does not have an outer covering?’ He said: ‘Let her sister share her own outer covering with her.’”

Hadith 1308

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَخْرِجُوا الْعَوَاتِقَ ، وَذَوَاتِ الْخُدُورِ لِيَشْهَدْنَ الْعِيدَ ، وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، وَلْيَجْتَنِبَنَّ الْحُيَّضُ مُصَلَّى النَّاسِ " .

´It was narrated that Umm ‘Atiyyah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Bring out the women who have attained puberty and those who are in seclusion so that they may attend the ‘Eid prayer and (join in) the supplication of the Muslims. But let the women who are menstruating avoid the prayer place.”

Hadith 1309

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يُخْرِجُ بَنَاتِهِ وَنِسَاءَهُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ " .

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to bring his daughters and his wives out on the two ‘Eid.

Hadith Takhrij « تفرد بہ این ماجہ ، ( تحفة الأشراف : 5818 ، ومصباح الزجاجة : 460 ) ، وقد أخرجہ : مسند احمد ( 1/231 ، 353 ) ( ضعیف ) » ( اس حدیث کی سند میں حجاج بن أرطاہ ضعیف اور مدلس ہیں ، اور روایت عنعنہ سے کی ہے )
