بَابُ : مِقْدَارِ الْمَاءِ الَّذِي لاَ يَنْجَسُ
Chapter: The quantity of water that does not become unclean
Hadith 517
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " سُئِلَ عَنِ الْمَاءِ يَكُونُ بِالْفَلَاةِ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ ، وَمَا يَنُوبُهُ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ ، وَالسِّبَاعِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا بَلَغَ الْمَاءُ قُلَّتَيْنِ لَمْ يُنَجِّسْهُ شَيْءٌ " .
´It was narrated from 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that his father said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah being asked about water in the wilderness that is frequented by beasts and predators. The Messenger of Allah said: "If the water reaches the amount of two Qullah, nothing can make it impure (Najis).'" (Sahih) Another chain with similar wording.
Hadith 517M
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَهُ .
A similar hadith is narrated through this chain as well.
Hadith 518
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ الْمَاءُ قُلَّتَيْنِ ، أَوْ ثَلَاثًا لَمْ يُنَجِّسْهُ شَيْءٌ " .
´It was narrated from 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that his father said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'If the water is the amount of two or three Qullah, nothing can make it impure (Najis).'" (Sahih) Another chain with similar wording.
Hadith 518M
قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، وَابْنُ عَائِشَةَ الْقُرَشِيُّ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ .
( The student of Imam Ibn Majah, may Allah have mercy on him ) Abu Hasan bin Salamah Qattan narrated this same narration with his elevated chain, that is, through Abu Hatim and Abu Walid, etc., from Hammad, without the intermediary of Imam Ibn Majah.
