Hadith 508
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ ، يَقُولُ لِزَائِدَةَ بْنِ قُدَامَةَ : يَا أَبَا الصَّلْتِ هَلْ سَمِعْتَ فِي هَذَا شَيْئًا ؟ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَدَخَلَ الْخَلَاءَ فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَكَفَّيْهِ ، ثُمَّ نَامَ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that:` The Prophet got up during the night and went to the toilet and relieved himself, then he washed his face and hands, and went back to sleep. (Sahih) Another chain with similar wording.
Hadith 508M
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا بُكَيْرٌ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : فَلَقِيتُ كُرَيْبًا فَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ .
With this chain also, Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated a similar hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in a marfu‘ form.
