بَابُ : الاِسْتِنْجَاءِ بِالْمَاءِ
Chapter: Cleaning oneself with water (Istinja')
Hadith 354
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ مِنْ غَائِطٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا مَسَّ مَاءً " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "I never saw the Messenger of Allah come out of the toilet without first (cleansing himself) with water."
Hadith 355
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي طَلْحَةُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، وَجَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ نَزَلَتْ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُطَّهِّرِينَ سورة التوبة آية 108 ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَثْنَى عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الطُّهُورِ ، فَمَا طُهُورُكُمْ " ؟ قَالُوا : نَتَوَضَّأُ لِلصَّلَاةِ ، وَنَغْتَسِلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ ، وَنَسْتَنْجِي بِالْمَاءِ ، قَالَ : " فَهُوَ ذَاكَ فَعَلَيْكُمُوهُ " .
´Abu Sufyan said:` "Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari, Jabir bin 'Abdullah, and Anas bin Malik told me that when this Verse: "In it (the mosque) are men who love to clean and to purify themselves. And Allah loves those who make themselves clean and pure." was revealed, the Messenger of Allah said: 'O Ansar! Allah has praised you for your cleanliness. What is the nature of your cleanliness?' They said: 'We perform ablution for prayer and we take bath to cleanse ourselves of impurity due to sexual activity, and we clean ourselves with water (after urinating). He said: 'This is what it is. So adhere to it.'"
Hadith 356
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَغْسِلُ مَقْعَدَتَهُ ثَلَاثًا " ، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : فَعَلْنَاهُ فَوَجَدْنَاهُ دَوَاءً وَطُهُورًا .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that:` The Prophet used to wash his private parts three times. Ibn 'Umar said: "We did that and we found it to be healing and a means of purification."
Hadith 356M
قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، نَحْوَهُ .
A narration with the same meaning has also been reported through this chain.
Hadith 357
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَزَلَتْ فِي أَهْلِ قُبَاءَ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُطَّهِّرِينَ سورة التوبة آية 108 قَالَ : " كَانُوا يَسْتَنْجُونَ بِالْمَاءِ ، فَنَزَلَتْ فِيهِمْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'The (following) was revealed about the people of Quba': 'In it (the mosque) are men who love to clean and purify themselves. And Allah loves those who make themselves clean and pure.'" He said: 'They used to clean themselves with water (after urinating), and this Verse was revealed concerning them.'"
