بَابُ : الرَّجُلِ يُسَلَّمُ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَبُولُ
Chapter: A man who is greeted while he is urinating
Hadith 350
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّلْحِيُّ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ حُضَيْنِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ أَبِي سَاسَانَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، عَنْ الْمُهَاجِرِ بْنِ قُنْفُذِ بْنِ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ، فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ السَّلَامَ ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ وُضُوئِهِ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي مِنْ أَنْ أَرُدَّ عَلَيْكَ ، إِلَّا أَنِّي كُنْتُ عَلَى غَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ " .
´It was narrated that Muhajir bin Qunfudh bin (Umair) bin Jud'an said:` "I came to the Prophet when he was performing ablution and greeted him with the Salam, but he did not return (the greeting). When he had finished his ablution he said: 'Nothing prevented me from returning your greeting but the fact that I need to have ablution.'" (Da'if) Another chain with similar wording.
Hadith 350M
قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ .
With this chain also, Saeed bin Abi Aroobah has narrated a similar narration.
Hadith 351
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " مَرَّ رَجُلٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَبُولُ ، فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ ضَرَبَ بِكَفَّيْهِ الْأَرْضَ فَتَيَمَّمَ ، ثُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` "A man passed by the Prophet while he was urinating, and greeted him with the Salam, but he did not return the greeting. While he finished, he struck the ground with his palms and did dry ablution (Tayammum), then he returned the greeting."
Hadith 352
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ هَاشِمِ بْنِ الْبَرِيدِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مَرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَبُولُ ، فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتَنِي عَلَى مِثْلِ هَذِهِ الْحَالَةِ فَلَا تُسَلِّمْ عَلَيَّ ، فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ لَمْ أَرُدَّ عَلَيْكَ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir bin `Abdullah that:` "A man passed by the Prophet while he was urinating, and greeted him by the Salam. The Messenger of Allah said to him: "If you see me in this situation, do not greet me with the Salam, for if you do that I will not respond to you.'"
Hadith 353
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ العسقلاني ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " مَرَّ رَجُلٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَبُولُ ، فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "A man passed by the Prophet while he was urinating and greeted him with the Salam, and he did not return the greeting."
