بَابُ : مَنْ كَرِهَ أَنْ يُوطَأَ عَقِبَاهُ
Chapter: He who dislikes having people walk behind him
Hadith 244
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " مَا رُئِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَأْكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا قَطُّ ، وَلَا يَطَأُ عَقِبَيْهِ رَجُلَانِ " .
´It was narrated from Shu'aib bin 'Abdullah bin 'Amr that his father said:` "The Messenger of Allah was never seen eating while reclining or making two men walk behind him." (Sahih) Other chains with the same meanings.
Hadith 244M
قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ : وَحَدَّثَنَا حَازِمُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ : وَحَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ صَاحِبُ الْقَفِيزِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ .
'(The student of Imam Ibn Majah, may Allah have mercy on him) Abu Al-Hasan Al-Qattan has also narrated this same hadith with his elevated chain from two other students of Hammad bin Salamah.'
Hadith 244M
قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ : وَحَدَّثَنَا حَازِمُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ : وَحَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ صَاحِبُ الْقَفِيزِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ .
'(The student of Imam Ibn Majah, may Allah have mercy on him) Abu Al-Hasan Al-Qattan has also narrated this same hadith with his elevated chain from two other students of Hammad bin Salamah.'
Hadith 245
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَانُ بْنُ رِفَاعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، قَالَ : " مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَوْمٍ شَدِيدِ الْحَرّ نَحْوَ بَقِيعِ الْغَرْقَدِ ، وَكَانَ النَّاسُ يَمْشُونَ خَلْفَهُ ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ صَوْتَ النِّعَالِ وَقَرَ ذَلِكَ فِي نَفْسِهِ ، فَجَلَسَ حَتَّى قَدَّمَهُمْ أَمَامَهُ لِئَلَّا يَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِهِ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْكِبْرِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Umamah said:` "The Prophet walked on a very hot day towards Baqi' Al-Gharqad (graveyard of Al-Madinah), and the people were walking behind him. When he heard the sound of their shoes, it affected his soul so he sat down until he made them go ahead of him, lest that make him feel too proud."
Hadith 246
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم إِذَا مَشَى مَشَى أَصْحَابُهُ أَمَامَهُ وَتَرَكُوا ظَهْرَهُ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ " .
´It was narrarted that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said:` "When the Prophet walked, his Companions would walk in front of him, and he would leave his back for the angels."
