´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade performing prayer behind one who is engaged in conversation or one who is sleeping.”

Brief Explanation
1؎ : This prohibition is of a discouraging (tanzihi) nature, meaning it is better not to perform the prayer in this manner. Or, the meaning of this hadith is that if the mosque is spacious and there is plenty of room, but one deliberately prays behind a person who is talking, then doing so is not correct. Otherwise, as mentioned in the previous hadith, Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha radi Allahu anha used to lie in front of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and he would perform the prayer.

Benefits and Issues:

It has already been established from previous hadiths that it is permissible to pray behind a sleeping person.
From this hadith, the opposite appears to be understood.
Therefore, this prohibition will be interpreted as being for the sake of preference (tanzih).
That is, it is better to avoid it.
Especially when it affects the humility (khushu‘) and concentration in prayer.

When there are people sitting in front, talking, attention is also diverted from the prayer; therefore, one should not pray in such a place.
