Benefits and Issues:
➊
All three narrations in the mentioned chapter are, according to our esteemed researcher, weak in their chains of transmission.
However, the issue itself is correct,
because it is established by other authentic narrations.
See: (Musnad Ahmad, 6/236 and Sunan Abi Dawud, al-Tatawwu‘, Chapter on the Night Prayer, Hadith: 1345)
Most likely for this reason, other researchers have declared this narration to be authentic.
For details, see: (Sahih Ibn Majah, Hadith: 918, 919, 920)
➋
The meaning of giving salam (salutation) to the front is that, unlike when turning the face fully to both sides while giving salam,
here the face was not turned fully, but only slightly to the right, as mentioned in the benefits of Hadith: 914.
