´Amr bin Shu'aib narrated that:` His father said: "Mu'awiyah stood up to deliver a sermon and said: 'Where are your scholars? Where are your scholars? For I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: The Hour will not begin until a group of my Ummah will prevail over the people, and they will not care who lets them down and who supports them."

Commentary:
(1)
"Where are your scholars?" This means that if you are in doubt, then ask those senior Companions (radi Allahu anhum); they too will support me. Or it means: why do your scholars not narrate these hadiths to you?
(2)
The meaning of "prevailing" is that they will prevail over the misguided sects through the strength of proofs and evidences, or it means that ultimately, outward dominance will also be attained by the people of truth.
(3)
The way of the true scholars is that they propagate what is correct and criticize wrong actions and wrong beliefs. In this matter, they do not consider whether their supporters are few or many, nor at what level of power and authority their opponents stand. The lives of great figures such as Imam Malik, Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, and Imam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) are the best examples of this.
