´It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:` “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) bowed, he neither raised his head nor lowered it, rather (he did something) between that.”

1؎: In such a way that the back and neck are kept level, and likewise, by consensus, performing bowing (ruku‘) in this manner is Sunnah. According to the Ahl al-Hadith, this is included in the proper fulfillment of the pillars (ta‘dil al-arkan), and in prayer, ta‘dil al-arkan is obligatory (fard). This is also the view of the three Imams and Abu Yusuf, but Abu Hanifah and Muhammad (rahimahumallah) have declared it to be wajib (necessary, but not at the level of fard). This is also the madhhab of the Ahl al-Hadith. To perform two units (rak‘ahs) of prayer with proper etiquette, conditions, and Sunnahs is better than performing many prayers in which the Sunnah is not observed. May Allah grant all Muslims the ability to do righteous deeds.
