´It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘There is no prayer for the one who does not recite in every Rak’ah: Al-Hamd (Al-Fatihah) and a Surah whether in an obligatory prayer or another.’”

Benefit: From this hadith, it is understood that reciting another surah along with Surah al-Fatihah is also necessary. However, this narration is weak in its chain of transmission. Therefore, reciting only Surah al-Fatihah is obligatory (wajib). And reciting another surah is recommended (mustahabb). It is not obligatory (fard). (Injaz al-Hajah)
