Hadith 816

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، وَسُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ ، عَنْ قُطْبَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَقْرَأُ فِي الصُّبْحِ : وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ سورة ق آية 10 " .
´It was narrated from Qutbah bin Malik that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) recite:` “And tall date palms, with ranged clusters” [50:10] in the Subh.

Benefit:
After Surah al-Fatihah, it is permissible to recite from any part of the Noble Qur’an as desired.
It is stated in the Noble Qur’an:
﴿فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ﴾ (al-Muzzammil: 20)
“Recite, then, whatever is easy for you from the Qur’an.”
In this hadith, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) recited Surah Qaf in the Fajr prayer.

951. Commentary: Ziyad bin Alaqah’s uncle is the Companion of the Messenger, Qutbah bin Malik radi Allahu anhu. Only two narrations are reported from him in the six canonical books. One is this mentioned hadith, and the other is in Jami’ al-Tirmidhi, hadith number 3591.

The Mufassal refers to the last seventh portion of the Qur’an, which, according to the correct opinion, begins from Surah Qaf and ends at Surah Al-Buruj.
