´It was narrated from Ibn Mas’ud that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minash-Shaitanir-rajim, wa hamzihi wa nafkhihi wa nafthihi (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed Satan, from his madness, his pride, and his poetry).”

Brief Explanation
1؎: Tayyibi says that if this is included in the explanation of the hadith, then no other explanation is possible besides this; and if the narrator has given this explanation, then by «نفث»«سحر» can also be meant, as Allah the Exalted has said: «ومن شر النفاثات في العقد» Surah al-Falaq: 4, and by «ہمز» the whispering of Satan can also be meant, as is mentioned in the Qur’an.

Benefits and Issues: ➊ (Hamz) The meaning of (hamz) is to jab one’s fingers forcefully into another person’s body, causing him pain. Mawtah is an illness that occurs due to the effect of Shaytan. It is similar to madness or epileptic seizures. In this state, a person loses consciousness. When the seizure ends, the patient regains full awareness and senses.
➋ (Nafth) By (nafth) is meant the manner of blowing that is adopted while performing ruqyah (spiritual healing by recitation and blowing). Obscene poetry, vulgar songs, and indecent verses are the result of Shaytan’s incitement. They have no benefit. Rather, their moral and social harms and damages are evident. Therefore, it is necessary to seek Allah’s protection from their evil. (Nafth) can also mean a whisper (waswasah).
➌ (Nafkh) By (nafkh) is meant the manner of blowing as when air is blown into something, or when something is blown upon forcefully. In the supplication, it refers to the state of pride and arrogance, because of which a person looks down upon others with contempt and considers himself superior to them. Many other moral diseases arise due to this.
