Hadith 801

´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said:` "We performed the Maghrib (prayer) with the Messenger of Allah, then those who went back went back, and those who stayed, stayed. Then the Messenger of Allah came back in a hurry, out of breath, with his garment pulled up to his knees, and said: 'Be of good cheer, for your Lord has opened one of the gates of heaven and is boasting of you before the angels, saying: "Look at My slaves; they have fulfilled one obligatory duty and are awaiting another."

Hadith Takhrij «
Brief Explanation
1؎: Due to coming quickly, the breath of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) became heavy and his knees became uncovered. From this, those people have deduced who say that the knees are not included in the awrah (private parts to be covered). In this hadith, there is mention of attributes such as Allah Ta'ala speaking, descending, and being pleased; it is necessary to affirm these as they are, without interpretation (ta'wil) or distortion (tahrif).
Explanation & Benefits

Commentary:
(1)
Sitting in the mosque while waiting for the prayer is a very great deed.

(2)
The knee is not included in the ‘awrah (private parts that must be covered).

(3)
Allah Ta’ala becomes pleased with the righteous deeds of believing servants.

(4)
Allah Ta’ala speaks to the angels. Speech (kalam) is an attribute of Allah; He speaks whenever He wills, to whomever He wills. On the Day of Resurrection, He will speak directly to every human being and take account. He will speak to the people of Paradise to express His pleasure.

(5)
Allah Ta’ala speaks to the angels because it was they who once said before Allah Ta’ala that the children of Adam would disobey You, shed blood, and cause corruption.
