Commentary:
➊ Abu ‘Unabah Khawlani radi Allahu anhu was a Companion from the early days of Islam. He performed prayer facing Bayt al-Maqdis before the command to change the qiblah, just as other Companions radi Allahu anhum continued to pray for sixteen or seventeen months before turning towards the Ka‘bah.

➋ The expansion of the religion of Islam is not limited to a particular era; rather, in every age, people will continue to leave other religions and enter Islam, and the Muslim Ummah will continue to benefit from their abilities.

➌ In Islam, no person becomes deserving of any special status merely on the basis that he is the descendant of Muslim forefathers for generations; rather, every individual earns his place in the Islamic society through his own deeds, character, and services.

➍ In every era and according to the needs of every society, there will remain scope for scholarly and practical work under the guidance of the Qur’an and Hadith. Therefore, it is not correct to say that so much work has been done in a particular field of service to Islam that there is no longer any need for further work. Just as the ability to perform this work can be granted to a Muslim by lineage, likewise, a new Muslim can also attain this honor.
